What is a polythene bag?

This is a clear, lightweight polythene bag designed to protect your products from moisture and dust. They are open at the top, with the other three sides sealed and the top can be closed by heat-sealing using one of our Impulse sealers, a rubber band, neck tie or tape. These bags are very versatile and although lightweight are very well made from safe, inert film which they can be used for many applications including food storage

What can Polythene bags be used for?

These poly bags are made from a food safe film and are able to hold confectionery products, such as cakes or brownies, as well as instruction booklets, plastic components, IT cables and clothing items. Light Duty Plastic Bags are also suitable for medical applications due to the inert nature of the film. Plus, they’re handy for collating lots of light, little products together.

If you are an ecommerce company selling and shipping plants, wrap the base of your plants in our poly bags to prevent the plant drying out and the soil from coming out of the pots when being transported.

How strong are light duty polythene plastic bags?

Whilst these bags are excellent quality, they are designed to hold lightweight products so should not be used for anything too heavy, or with sharp corners. Perfect for clothing, textiles, soft toys, IT cabling and similar products.

How to measure these bags?

These bags are measured as follows: width first, then length. So this bag is 250mm wide by 300mm long

Please note sizes can vary by a few mm due to manufacturing tolerances - Width +/- 3mm or 2%, Length +/- 6mm or 2%, Gauge +/- 10%. This means that the sizing could vary very slightly between batches.
