Transpack is a long established family-run packaging and polythene supplier – and we recently celebrated our 60th anniversary! Based in Totton, Southampton, we are situated right on the edge of the picturesque New Forest, but our items have travelled far across the world from Iceland, to Hungary, and beyond.
Transpack started life as Transatlantic Plastics in 1953 in a single-room shop on Fulham Palace Rd in London, selling small quantities of Polythene bags with, or so the story goes, a shoe box for a till.
By the late 60's and early 70's Transatlantic Plastics had grown to become not only one of the largest suppliers of polythene bags, but also sold secondary double glazing, gardening, and DIY products in the South of England. We were supplying companies such as the Forestry Commission, various police forces, many hospitals and even British Airways with front wheel covers for the Concorde. We also had a manufacturing and special fabrications plant at Ventnor on the Isle of Wight and 18 retail shops!
